Toxins in the modern world are fast becoming more and more talked about, the raise of what we are absorbing and disease is something we all need to think about in our everyday lives. Chemicals and heavy metal absorption into the body can come from anywhere and most people don’t even know that their everyday practices might be increasing their toxicity levels. Pesticides coat our fresh food supply, mercury amalgam fillings might be leeching mercury into your body with every bite, fish are found to have higher and higher levels of toxins and you can see how the pollution in the air is effecting the weather. Yes these are but a few examples. I know there’s a lot to think about, but thinking is not doing and we need to start doing more for ourselves to decrease the chances of dis-ease in our bodies. So what can you do to expel some of these toxins and metals from your system? One thing I like to include in my diet is Chlorella, it’s such a good supercharging body detoxifier.
Chlorella comes in either tablet or powder form, it’s a single-cell green algae belonging to the phylum Chlorophyta family. Chlorella is packed with beta carotene, vitamin B complex and B-12, magnesium, iron, RNA, DNA, protein, and amino acids which is needed for a healthy system. Chlorella is an excellent heavy metal detoxifier of the blood, so it helps clean out your system, helping you absorb all the nutrients from all good raw food fuel you put in.
How does it work?
Chlorella acts as a binding agent and as it goes through your system, it attracts all those nasty heavy metals and other toxic pollutants to it, then it escorts them out of organ tissues through your backdoor. If heavy metals such as mercury, arsenic, and lead remain in the body it can cause mayhem to your immune system and destroy your healthy cells over time. So peeps it’s important to constantly be giving your internal house a good cleanout with super fighters such as Chlorella. I like to think if it as a future health investment in protecting my body.
How to use Chlorella
The taste can be a bit overwhelming at first, so it’s best to have smaller amounts when you start. You can add it to juices and smoothies and one thing I always have on me is a mixture of Spirulina, Chlorella, Maca and Lucuma powder in a small glass bottle. If I’m out with friend’s I can order a freshly squeezed juice and instantly turn it into a green super juice, yes you might get some weird looks, but it gets people thinking green! The Chlorella gets all the bad stuff out while the other powder’s put all the good stuff in. This little hack is also great if you are doing a juice fast and can’t get to a juice bar, just add it to water or a not from concentrate juice and boom instant energy to keep you going!
