Last week on day 5 of my juice cleanse I got to experience the only spa My Detox Diet in London offering the Lyashi Dome ~ a revolutionary process that burns up to 600 calories and also helps the body to detox from heavy metal exposure, which accelerates weight gain and ageing and plays havoc with our immune system. The Lyashi Dome has far infra-red rays, which have existed since the beginning of time and research conducted by NASA in the 1950’s found that these far infra-red rays are essential to the metabolism & growth of all living organisms. This is such a great way to boost your cleansing process, especially when doing a juice cleanse!

I wasn’t really sure what to expect, just knew it was like a sauna but more powerful and on a chilly winter day in London, what a nice way to warm up. So I spent the first 15 minutes on my front with the dome covering my body and head sticking out, it was really relaxing and I fell asleep for a bit. When I woke I was starting to sweat, which always feels good and then it was time to turn up the heat, lay on my back for 15mins while the dome worked it’s magic, it was pretty intense, but not uncomfortable and the sweating got taken to a whole new level of detoxing. At the end of the session I had a bottle of water to drink and time to chill and get dressed, as you can’t shower for 2 hours after the treatment, but I didn’t feel like I needed one. I felt really great afterwards, my skin was clearer and it also helped to improve my eczema. The girl who came in after me had been in a few times as she was a dancer and felt it was helping her with joint pain, so there’s something to be said about the deep penetration healing far infra-red rays! Definitely something I want to go back and do again, as I really liked how it helped my skin and made me feel.

After my sauna I got chatting to one of the owners Susanne Kollner, who comes from a family of chefs, has grown up on fresh, tasty healthy food and worked in a boutique detox and weight loss resort in the Bavarian Alps for five years. She was really open to the questions I asked and I found it very fascinating they all the ends and off cuts from the vegetables used in juices is never wasted, but used to make vegetable stock which is then used in the foods they make in the shop. Now that’s being efficient with using all of the produce and My Detox Diet you get two big happy thumbs up from me!

Being such a chatterbox has a few advantages and I was kindly given samples of Broccoli sprout, Wheatgrass juice (which is done via a special high pressure hydraulic press, meaning no enzymes are harmed, unlike all powered and frozen ones I’ve seen) and a few juices to test for the blog. I couldn’t wait to try the one that was most popular ‘Super Greens’, which is a mixture of celery, broccoli, spinach, kale, apple and cucumber. You could taste the green goodness and it didn’t surprise me it was the most popular. We also had an interesting conversation about the people that came into the shop to get the fresh juices and how younger people where coming in to get the raw green juice in the morning because they noticed how much it improved their skin. That put a big smile on my face, that the juicing love is spreading. I really enjoyed all the juices, they tasted so fresh and cleansing. It’s so good to know that when I’m out and about in Greenwich I can go there and get liquid nourishment. On a juicing cleanse this is one of my ‘Juicing Hacks’ ~ knowing where all the good juice bars are. Thanks My Detox Diet and see you again soon!
