Why veggans eat eggs…

If you’re a vegetarian, then it’s highly likely that you already appreciate the health benefits of eating a
plant-based diet.

Eating way for health means lower blood pressure and cholesterol levels, more stable blood sugar,
and a reduced incidence of cancer.

That’s above and beyond the other benefits, such as having more energy, clearer skin, and even the reversal of health-related conditions.

However, some vegans are now becoming veggan, which means that they’re sticking to eating only foods that are derived from the earth, with the exception of eggs, yes they eat eggs.

What makes eggs such an important part of the diet that they’ve worked their way into a traditional
plant-based lifestyle? As it turns out, there are three pretty solid reasons.

Top 3 reasons to eat eggs

1. Higher Energy Levels

Eggs have long been considered one of the best protein sources available, with each one supplying roughly 6 grams. Protein is critical not only for helping your body build muscle mass, but also for  giving you enough energy to get through your busy day.

This reason is probably more important today than ever before as it seems like we’re always running from one thing to the next with little time to just sit and relax.

In this way, eating eggs essentially helps give you that oomph you need to accomplish all of the amazing things you want to do.

2. Eat Eggs to Losing or Maintaining Weight

Have you ever noticed that you have an easier time waiting for lunch when you eat eggs for breakfast than when you choose other options like cereal or a bagel? Again, this is due largely to the protein in eggs, a result which makes it easier to lose weight or, if you’re already where you want to be, maintain a healthy weight.

3. Greater Health

One of the reasons a plant-based diet is so good for you is because of the many different vitamins and minerals it provides, ultimately giving you a higher level of health. Well, the same is true when it comes to eggs, because they contain a number of healthy nutrients as well. They include vitamins A, B2, B5, and B12; along with phosphorus, selenium, iron, choline, and a variety of amino acids.

Eggs also supply your body with a good dose of two different antioxidants, specifically lutein and zeaxanthine. These have been linked with greater eye health, reducing your risk of macular degeneration or cataracts.

If I eat eggs won’t my cholesterol levels increase?

Amidst all of these benefits, the concern most people have when it comes to eggs is cholesterol. However, reputable health agencies like the Mayo Clinic indicate that the cholesterol in eggs has very little effect on blood cholesterol levels. The only exception is for diabetics, as eggs can increase the risk of heart disease for this portion of the population.

How to Incorporate Eggs In Your Diet

If you are considering going veggan to enjoy these types of benefits, you can incorporate eggs into your diet fairly easily. For instance, you can poach them, scramble them, or fry them in a little heart-healthy olive oil and have a filling breakfast. You can also add them later in the day by making a frittata with spinach, potatoes, and leeks or a potato and greens torta.
