How to drink lemon and water in the morning? Do this a couple of times a week, add a slice and a few drops into a cup of warm filtered/mineral water first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. Use warm water because boiling water will destroy some of the enzymatic properties of fresh lemon, while icy cold water will hinder its digestive benefits. Make sure to wait 30 minutes before eating breakfast, as this will ensure your body gets the most energy and nutrients from your morning elixir.  You’ll find you end up acquiring a taste for it, the health benefits alone will inspire to keep going and you can adjust how much you add.

Ayurvedic philosophy believes the first item you ingest sets your mood for the remainder of the day, so drinking warm lemon water helps purify your body and in turn your mind. Lemon juice, rind, and zest are used in a wide variety of food and drink purposes throughout the world. The juice is also a short-term natural preservative for certain foods that tend to oxidise and turn brown after being sliced, these include apples, bananas and avocados. Keep your guacamole green by squeezing a little lemon juice over it.

Grated rind is great and can be kept to add flavor to desserts, baking and salad dressings. If you want to save it for cooking  later dehydrate your grated rind or let dry out in a sunny spot, no part of this wonderful fruit needs to be wasted.
